Adopt-a-thon for Homeless Animals
The Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) is hosting a National Homeless Animals Day Adopt-a-thon. Joining CBHS in the weekend event will be Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital, the North and South Animal Care Centers, and the S.P.C.A. of North Brevard. There will be special pricing on all types of adoptable pets and free micro-chipping for each pet adopted. The CBHS provides an animal welfare shelter and programs that foster a humane ethic toward all animals. They strive to deepen the community’s commitment to spaying and neutering, as well as to the adoption of homeless companion animals. Believing this to be essential to achieving their purpose of humane care and treatment of all animals, they strive to place abandoned animals with responsible, caring owners in "forever" homes.
The Adopt-a-thon will be held Saturday, August 21 and Sunday, August 22 from 11am-4:30pm at the Central Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa. For more information, call 321-636-3343 or visit

Integrative Medicine Treats Acute/Chronic Conditions
Dr. Deepti Sadhwani of Quality Health Care Center announces the expansion of her practice to offer medical weight loss and disease control. Using an integrative services model, which combines the specialties of her internal medicine practice, Sadhwani now focuses exclusively on treating obesity and its related illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. She believes in empowering patients with knowledge they need for better health and well-being. By utilizing the power of food, she is able to control many chronic conditions so the patient either comes off medication or lowers their dosage.
Dr. Sadhwani, board-certified Internal Medicine & Diplomate of Bariatric medicine, affirms just about every disease can be traced back to inflammation. The downward spiral into inflammation-related chronic illness began with the introduction of cheap grains. She states, “Eating too much cheap grain can actually shorten our life span, as evidenced by eating too much high-glycemic refined carbohydrates causing the body to produce too much insulin.” Sadhwani believes choosing the right food is as important as prescribing the right drug. “In the world of Integrative Medicine, we let food become our drug.”
Quality Health Care is located at 12920 US Highway 1, Sebastian. For more information, call 772-581-2373 or visit
