June 2009 Newsbriefs
Raw Food Workshop
For those who love pizza, Mexican chili, Indian pudding, or Thai pie, Anne-Marie Derouault has created a raw food workshop to make healthy, light and alive raw recipes that are fun, varied, and balanced. Knowing how to combine foods and herbs to obtain balanced and delicious raw dishes brings a greater variety to the living food lifestyle. This workshop will help participants discover vegetables, seeds, and herbs that work together to deliver a satisfying meal. Variety supports an easy and balanced transition to more live foods and tasty recipes will include entrees and desserts.
Anne-Marie Derouault, PhD, owner of Emergence Resources, offers raw food education, yoga, Reiki, stress management, and communication training. She also provides personal assessment and support to help people get started in a progressive transition to raw foods. Emergence Resources is an official branch of the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center directed by Dr Gabriel Cousens. Anne-Marie would like everyone to "Celebrate the balance of feeding the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves."
The workshop is Thursday, June 18th in Central Merritt Island, from 6:30-8:30pm. For registration and details, call 321-406-0575, email annmaryd@earthlink.net, or visit www.coachyoga.com.

Cranial Release Technique
Lotus Heart Holistic Center in Historic Downtown Melbourne proudly announces it has added Cranial Release Technique (CRT) to its menu of services. Research shows when people are under constant, chronic low-level stress, brain hemisphere activity lateralizes and the body twists out of balance. This Cranial-Dural Stress Syndrome has far-reaching effects on health and vitality. The CRT procedure creates a deep release in the cranial dura as well as within all body structures and the functions associated with it. CRT opens, aligns, and unlocks the 22 bones of the cranium, takes tension out of the dura matter, aligns the spine and pelvis, releases any fascial restrictions within the body, and rebalances brain hemisphere activity. Denise Boehm, LMT and Kirsten Bonnucci Saltvedt, LMT, both certified CRT practitioners, are in agreement that, "The effects are far-reaching and many times quite profound."
A free informational seminar will be held Thursday, May 28 at 7:30pm at Lotus Heart Holistic Center, 529 East New Haven Ave., Melbourne. For more information or to reserve a seat, please call 321-768-7575. Need MM ##S.

Healthy Dining Made Easy
Dr Mark Pinsky, developer of the Pinsky Sports Performance and Weight Management Center and co-owner of Heart and Sol Organic Wellness Center, has joined together with Salvatore Iuculano to create healthy menu additions for Mr. Iucuano’s Suntree restaurant, Primavera.
Dr Pinsky and his staff worked with the Pinsky staff to develop healthy menu selections using the Pinsky Weight Loss program guidelines for Primavera menu items. These selections are endorsed by Dr. Pinsky and are featured on the menu as Pinsky Perfect Portions. They are designed for busy people to dine out without the hassle of guessing fat, salt and calories of restaurant dishes. Menu items include a 3 oz portion of grilled chicken basted in fresh lemon juice and quick fired with just a touch of olive oil with brown rice and sautéed spinach with garlic on the side and pan sautéed sea scallops with whole wheat pasta and zucchini with fresh tomato sauce.
Pinskey Weight Loss participants are now able to continue their successful participation in the Pinsky Program and dine out guiltlessly at the same time. These new menu ideas are designed for anyone who wants a healthy meal, plus they help Pinsky Program participants to maintain food and lifestyle management success using real food, no shots, and no hunger.
