Local Hurricane Relief Efforts

 

Pascal’s Downtown Bistro: The restaurant at 336 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, will donate a portion of September revenues to the Red Cross relief fund. A donation also will be made after the “Dine Out” night October 10th. Call 321-385-9005.

Central Brevard Sharing Center: The food program needs help meeting the needs of hurricane victims in addition to serving local residents, especially with the holidays approaching. The center is at 113 Aurora St., Cocoa. Call 321-631-0306.

South Brevard Sharing Center: Collecting gift cards to purchase food and personal items, prepaid telephone and gas cards, and money for lodging for evacuees in Brevard County. Drop off donations at 17 E. Hibiscus Blvd., Melbourne.

Brevard Schools Foundation: Collecting backpacks, school supplies, and financial donations for new students who were displaced by the storm. Call 321-633-1000, ext. 756 or drop off donations at the Educational Services Facility, 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera.

Patrick Air Force Base: As many as 100 military families from the Gulf region are coming to Patrick Air Force Base. Items can be taken to the Leasing Office, 40 Carolina St. in the Pelican Coast housing area. Arrangements can be made to pick up furniture and a large quantity of items. Call 321-777-8282.

Diaper drop: Space Coast Harley-Davidson and the Space Coast chapter of the March of Dimes are collecting new items for babies and toddlers at 6030 N. U.S. 1, Melbourne. Call 321-259-1311.

All Riverside Bank locations will serve as drop-off points for non-perishable items such as canned foods, packaged dry goods, diapers and bottled water. Any checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army; include on the memo line it's for Hurricane Katrina Relief. For more information call 1-800-741-3283.
